As always, I’m trying to juggle many things. When I came across the /now page movement by Derek Sivers, I thought it was a great way to declare priorities and remain focused.
So here’s what I’m focused on right now:
Write. I reflect on travel and hiking adventures on my other website, inspirationrick.ca. However, at one time, I used to write about a range of topics. I think a lot. I try to make sense of a lot. And once I converted my blog to a travel/hiking site, I stopped writing about all those topics swirling in my head that could use a bit of processing. Hence the birth of this site, rickychin.com. This is becoming my space to tease out what’s going on in my head. And I know I’m not alone in having too many things to think about. So join me for a virtual coffee and ponder topics such as productivity, minimalism, boundaries, independence, self care, creating the life you want, and giving back. In the process, I’m teasing out an offering for coaching services.
Debt. I’ll be writing about this more on the blog, but I’ve decided to tackle my debt aggressively. It’s been causing me a lot of stress and anxiety. I am quite focused on cutting expenses or increasing income in order to put this beast to bed.
The Road to Recovery. I’ve been dealing with a back injury since mid-November. It put a stop to the weight training I was doing 5 days a week, and forced me to slow down. I’ve been seeing my physiotherapist and chiropractor since then. It’s made me realize that I need to take better care of myself. Focus on form. Stretch and relax. Weight train with injury prevention in mind. I’m doing what I need to get my neck, shoulders and back in order so I can continue my fitness pursuits.
Nutrition Coaching. I’m halfway through a nutrition coaching certification course through Precision Nutrition. It should be completed by the end of April.
